This is part of a series I did exploring functional lidded vessels with simple shapes. I wanted to look at the balance between form and function by playing with the curvature of the silhouette of the vessel. Before beginning on the wheel, I sketched a series of shapes and imagined how my hand technique would need to adapt to develop them.
